Monserrat Creamer Guillén has been the Minister of Education since June 27, 2019. She holds a PhD in Education from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s Degree from Alabama University and the Salesian Polytechnic University, respectively, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from PUCE.
She has had a long professional career in the field of education and teaching. She was Director of Education at Grupo FARO, Director of Academic Excellence at the Universidad de las Américas- UDLA- Coordinator, and teacher of the Education area at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. She has authored papers on Development of Critical Thinking in the classroom and other articles on education. She has experience in project management and public policy, and was the Undersecretary of Educational Professional Development and Educational Fundamentals, as well as advisor to the Ministry of Education for the project to create the UNAE-Universidad Nacional de Educación.
