RewirEd2021 is excited to partner with Gulf Dunes, a leading destination management company based in the UAE, to assist RewirEd Summit participants with their travel plans and make your trip to Dubai as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Thanks to our collaboration, RewirEd Summit guests will benefit from special rates on hotels in addition to support with booking tickets to experience some of Dubai’s highlights for those that are keen to do so. Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a link to the website for hotel bookings. In the meantime, additional travel information is below:

Before you book

Check if you need a visa. Depending on your nationality, you can get a visa on arrival, or you can apply for a prearranged visit visa from Dubai Immigration before you travel.

Transport to get to Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC),the RewirEd Summit venue

RewirEd Summit will take place in the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC)during EXPO 2020 Dubai. The all-new DEC is set to open on October 20 this year as a focal point of Expo 2020. The new facility will become a new space from which to host conferences and other events.


Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 41 minutes’ drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 24 minutes’ drive.


The Dubai Metro Red Line from Dubai International Airport connects to Route 2020 line at Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station, which takes you to Expo 2020 Dubai. Metro stations have tactile paving to facilitate access for visually-impaired people. All stations on the Red and Green lines have wheelchair access either via step free routes or lifts. There is designated seating for those less able to stand on all metro trains. Station announcements are made both visually and audibly in Arabic and English.

Expo Rider buses

There will be 580 Expo Rider buses operated by the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) free of charge for Expo 2020 visitors. These buses have low floors and are capable of lowering to provide ramped access. Aisle widths enable a wheelchair to move down the bus and there are spaces for two wheelchairs.


Dubai’s taxis are easily identified by their cream body color and the color of the roof signifies which company operates them. Taxis can be booked by phone. Alternatively, there are also two mobile apps you can use to book: Careem and Uber.

Accessible public/private vehicle hire

For those wishing to hire an accessible private car and driver or public Demand Responsive Transit (DRT), also known as Dial-a-Ride-transit (DART), Inclusion Services LLC provides accessible vehicles for Abu Dhabi, Dubai and all of the UAE with pre-booking.

Once you receive confirmation of your application to attend the Summit, you will receive access to the Trip Planner website with special hotel rates as well as opportunities for sightseeing, whilst you are in Dubai.
